The Lehigh Valley Rollergirls took to the road this past Saturday April 16, to face Hudson Valley in the bout entitled, “The Jam for Justice.” Snapping a two bout losing streak, LVRG delivered the blows and body slams and emerged with the win posting a 35 point lead in a final score of 144-109.
Adding to what has been a busy April and early May, the Rollergirls will once again hit the road to take on the Long Island Roller Rebels May 7th at Skate Safe America in Bethpage, NY located in Nassau County. This match is unique for the fact it will be a double header featuring the first ever men’s flat track roller derby bout. The men’s home team the NY Shock exchange will meet their challengers the Utica Quadfathers in this historic bout beginning at 6:30pm. Doors open at 6pm for all events and parking is free although it is suggested fans arrive early as turnout is expected to be large. Following the men’s bout, the Hissy Fits face off against the Roller Rebels in what is sure to be a hard hitting match. DJ Joe Jack will be spinning the beats to entertain the crowd and local microbrewery Long Ireland Brewery will be serving up the suds. This is a must see event and guaranteed to be a sellout.
